Alexandre Lacazette reveals he wanted to be a goalkeeper, but He plays upfront for Arsenal and France, and so the whole football thing worked out alright for Alexandre Lacazette in the end. But if he’d have had it the way he wanted, then things could have worked out very differently. Because the forward – who has been on fire for Arsenal ever since joining the club from Lyon, and who is in the French squad for this week’s World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Belarus – he revealed he wanted to have a career of stopping the ball going into the net, rather than putting it in there himself. Then his mum stepped in. “I did like playing in goal when I was young but my mum wasn’t very keen as she thought being a goalie was too dangerous,” he said when on France duty. “She said that I either played as a forward or not at all.” The young Lacazette ended up taking that advice to heart and quickly became very good at playing as a forward, even if his

Tiwa Savage’s comment on gender equality stirs Twitter debate Nigerians on Twitter are currently having a heated debate over Tiwa Savage’s comment on gender equality. In a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, the award-winning singer and mother of one made her stance on the subject matter very clear. “…I also don’t think men and women are equal. I don’t think that’s how God created us, especially in the household anyway. So I think as females when we realise that yeah we can be strong as female in our career and stuff, but when we are home we have to realise that the man is the head of the house.”, she said. This comes days after she reacted to making BBC top 100 women list. In her reaction, Tiwa Savage called on women not to allow their role as women in society limit them from harnessing their full potential. “Don’t let being a woman hinder you, I have and still have to fight to get people to respect and appreciate my work and not limit me because I a

‘Why women like me attract cheating and damaged men’ – Actress Dayo Amusa Nigerian actress and singer, Dayo Amusa, in a long post on Instagram revealed why women like her attract cheating  and damaged men. She shared a photo from her Dubai vacation and wrote; I used to be a fixer. I stayed in bad relationships, attracting the same type of men—men who needed to be fixed. I know so many women in the same position. We attract cheating men, commitment-phobic men, emotionally unavailable men, emotionally damaged men, alcoholics, drug abusers, narcissists and sociopaths. It’s like we are a magnet for men whose pieces are shattered all over the place. And for some reason, we feel compelled to put these pieces back together. But I must admit, I have failed every single time. I never gave myself a chance to sit back and question my motives. Instead of asking why I constantly felt obligated to pick up someone else’s broken pieces, I ran to pick them up without a

Argentina coach, Sampaoli explains why he don’t pair Messi, Dybala in attacking role Argentina head coach, Jorge Sampaoli says it is too risky to pair Lionel Messi and Paulo Dybala together in the starting XI as the country national team fight desperately to qualify for next year’s World Cup. Sampaoli said the two superstars have not had enough time together on the pitch to risk the pairing in a crucial situation. Argentina welcomes fourth-placed Peru to Buenos Aires on Thursday, with Sampaoli’s men clinging to fifth place in the CONMEBOL standings, which would only be enough for a play-off berth. Sampaoli said he is reluctant to name five-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi and Dybala in the same line-up, given their lack of playing time together. “As there is no time to work the Dybala-Messi relationship, we should go to something more concrete,” said Sampaoli, who is convinced Argentina will qualify for the showpiece in Russia. Dybala, who has starred
