Done Deal: Liverpool agree club record transfer with RB Leipzig for Naby Keita
Unbelievable news for Liverpool fans!
Paul Joyce, the well-respected and well-informed Liverpool based journalist, has dropped an enormous piece of news on Monday.
He’s confirmed that Liverpool have agreed a club record transfer with RB Leipzig for Naby Keita.
But unfortunately for the Reds, Keita will not be joining the Reds this summer.
Instead, Keita will complete his Liverpool move next summer.
Keita will officially joins Liverpool on July 1, 2018.
Liverpool are also said to be paying a premium now on top of next summer’s £48 million release clause in order to secure the services of the box-to-box midfielder.
One of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga, Keita has been the target of at least three bids from Liverpool this summer. The reds were thought to have offered 75 million pounds for the African star this transfer window.
But throughout the summer RB Leipzig have stuck to their guns regarding Naby Keita.
The emerging side in the Bundesliga will be playing European football this season, and do not need the money, even at the level of Liverpool’s bids for the midfielder.
